100 More Deadly Runners
$50,000. 100 new runners. A movement that keeps growing.
Â
The Challenge
For many First Nations people, taking the first step into running isn’t as simple as putting on a pair of shoes.
Cost, access and a lack of culturally safe spaces can all be
barriers. Without the right support,
encouragement and community,
many people never get the opportunity to discover where running
could take them.
Â
We Know What Running Can Start
Deadly Runners strengthens mob through running, connection and community. Contributing to stronger, healthier individuals and communities through movement and belonging.
And we know it works.
In the past three years, 180 First Nations
people have participated in our beginner running programs.
From those communities, we’ve:
- Delivered 3 Leadership Camps
- Supported 26 nationally accredited qualifications
- Created 7 paid coaching opportunities
- Supported 120+ race entries, including 21 marathon and ultramarathon entries
Our runners have gone from their first kilometre to representing
Deadly Runners at events including the Chicago,
London, New York,
San Francisco, Gold Coast and Sydney Marathons and the Canadian Death
Race, as well as dozens
of community running and trail events
across Australia.
One of our beginner runners from three years ago is now the First
Nations Ambassador for the TCS Sydney Marathon,
while Deadly
Runners Founder and CEO Georgia Weir is now Head Coach of the TCS
Sydney Marathon.
That’s what can start with one opportunity to run.
Â

Â
Now We Want to Back the Next 100
We’re raising $50,000 to create opportunities for another 100 First Nations people to become Deadly Runners.
Why?
Deadly Runners strengthens mob through running, connection and community. Contributing to stronger, healthier individuals and communities through movement and belonging.
Our goal is simple:Â remove barriers to participation and create opportunities for mob to grow and thrive through running.
Your support can help provide:
- Quality running shoes and essential running gear
- Jogging prams so parents can fully participate
- Coaching and culturally safe beginner running programs
- Race and event entry fees
- Travel and accommodation where cost would otherwise prevent participation
- Pathways into qualifications, leadership and paid coaching opportunities
Not every runner needs the same support. That’s the point. We meet
people where they’re at and remove the barriers
standing between
them and participation.
Â
You Can Create the Next Deadly Runner
For one person, that might mean running their first kilometre.
For another, their first 5km or community event.
And for someone else, it could be the beginning of a journey towards
a marathon, a qualification, paid employment,
leadership or
becoming the person who inspires others in their community to start
running too.

Â
Your $500 can back one of the next 100 Deadly Runners.
Â
Deadly Rewards
When you support the next 100, you can choose from our Deadly Rewards
as a way for us to give something back
in recognition of your contribution.
If rewards aren’t your thing, you can simply donate.
Either way, you’ll be part of the journey.
We’ll share the collective impact of the next 100 Deadly Runners
celebrating first runs, first events, personal milestones
and the
stories our runners choose to share.
Over time, we’ll show you what your support made possible: how many
people completed the program, kept running,
entered events and
stepped into coaching, qualifications and leadership.
Because when you back one Deadly Runner, the impact can reach far beyond one person.
180 runners have already shown us what’s possible.
Â
Help us create the next 100.
