Across Australia, 1 in 3 migrant women experience domestic violence.
Many rebuild their lives with nothing: facing language barriers, isolation, visa insecurity, and financial hardship. For too many, the dark feels endless.

About Women’s Lantern: Born in Darkness. Built by Survivors. Powered by Light.

Women’s Lantern began with our founder’s lived experience in a shelter, witnessing migrant women — including a mother with three children, no English, no visa, no income — yet an unbreakable will to build a brighter future.

From that moment, Women’s Lantern was ignited: a migrant- and survivor-led social enterprise empowering women affected by domestic, family, and sexual violence through culturally safe and trauma-informed programs.

Drawing on the founder’s background in product innovation, we merge design thinking with sustainable technology to transform solar power into economic power.

We’ve partnered with council to deliver prevention programs in migrant communities and work with universities and researchers to advance evidence-based advocacy for women’s safety and economic dignity.

Now we’re taking the next step with your help.
We’re raising $15,000 to launch our first solar lantern production, funding survivor training, skills development, and pathways to dignified employment for migrant survivors in Australia.

Our Solution

Each solar lantern we create is handcrafted with purpose: turning clean energy into healing, hope, and opportunity. We walk alongside survivors as they rebuild confidence, learn employable skills, and access real pathways to work; so learning & earning are genuinely accessible. We provide:
