Success and impact of the Bunyala Agr climate Industrial Park project

Our project, the Bunyala Agricultural Climate Action BSF and Vermiworm Project for Animal Feeds, aims to address the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in Bunyala, Kenya. These farmers struggle with low crop yields and lack of access to affordable animal feeds, which has a detrimental impact on their livelihoods and the local economy.

To solve this problem, we have developed a sustainable solution that consists of breeding black soldier flies (BSF) and vermiworms to produce protein-rich animal feeds. The BSF and vermiworms feed on organic waste, such as kitchen scraps and livestock manure, which reduces waste and creates a circular economy.

However, we face a gap in terms of resources and knowledge. Many farmers in the area are unaware of sustainable agricultural practices, and lack the necessary resources to invest in them. This is where our project comes in, as we provide training and access to the necessary equipment to implement our sustainable solution.

Supporters of our project are the heroes of the story, as their contributions help to provide much-needed resources for smallholder farmers in the area. Through their support, they are able to make an impact on the lives of farmers and the local community  economy of Bunyala ,Budalangi  while also contributing to a more sustainable future in this commmunity lively hood.

We have already seen success with our pilot project, as farmers were able to increase their crop yields and sell excess animal feeds at a profit. As we continue to expand our project, we hope to create even greater impact and help farmers in Bunyala thrive.

Use of funds

The funds raised through our crowdfunding campaign will be used to support the production of fish feeds, black soldier flies (BSF), and vermiworms in Bunyala and Budalangi, Kenya. Specifically, the funds will be used to:

Purchase equipment and supplies for breeding BSF and vermiworms, such as containers, feedstock, and starter cultures.

Set up production facilities that are suitable for producing high-quality, protein-rich animal feeds.

Conduct training workshops for smallholder farmers and community members to educate them on the benefits of sustainable agriculture, and how to implement our solution using BSF and vermiworms in their own farming practices.

Conduct research and development to improve the quality and effectiveness of our feeds and to optimize our production processes.

Conduct outreach and awareness-raising activities to promote sustainable agriculture practices, and to engage with local stakeholders and partners in the area.
