We are crowdfunding to launch Safe Call Up, a discreet, hands-free app that empowers survivors of domestic violence to record evidence of coercive control and access real-time support; safely and silently.

The Problem (Fear + Coercive Control)

Every day in Australia individuals are live under the shadow of domestic violence and coercive control. Recent reports highlighting that there is approximately 70 per cent of the population who do not report or seek help when they are experiencing domestic violence or coercive control. Whilst it impacts mostly women and children, we know there are incidents which involves men and the LGBTQIA+ community as victims where there are minimal supports for them in the community.  

It’s not always about bruises or physical harm sometimes it’s about being monitored, isolated, controlled. Victims are watched: their calls, their texts, even their movements. For someone living under coercive control, reaching out for help can feel impossible. A visible phone call, a deleted message, or a search history could put them in even greater danger. This silence costs lives.

The Solution (Hope + Innovation)

Safe Call Up is a discreet, AI-powered app designed to break through that silence. Hidden behind a safe interface, it allows victims of coercive control and domestic violence to signal for help, access resources, and connect with services without alerting their abuser. It gives back something that’s been stolen from them: the freedom to act, the power to choose, the ability to survive.

Safe Call Up works in the background of a phone, hidden behind another everyday app interface like a gaming app.  With a simple voice command, something as natural as saying 'bananas' the app discreetly begins recording and securely storing evidence. There is also specific sections of the app where AI also analyses risk patterns over time, provides safety plans based off risk and help survivors document coercive control in ways that traditional tools never could.

The Barrier (Your Call to Act)

Right now, survivors are forced to rely on outdated tools that require visible, manual activation where they must physically touch their phones, putting them in even greater danger. Safe Call Up removes that risk.

The Heroes (Donors as Protectors)

This is where you become the hero of the story. Your support is not just a donation; it’s protection for someone who feels they have no choices left. 

• A mother under surveillance can whisper a command while preparing dinner, activating the app without raising suspicion.

• A young person being monitored at home can trigger the app which starts recording safely in the background.

• The evidence is then encrypted and stored, ready for use in protection order applications or court proceedings.

Every contribution directly funds critical app features:

• $15 → Gives one survivor a month of secure access.

• $150 → Supports one survivor for an entire year.

And when donors combine forces, the impact multiplies;

• If 100 people donate $50, we can cover the overall costs of evidence storage for 6 months. 

• If 100 people donate $150, we can build the covert screen interface that keeps survivors safe from detection.

• If 200 people donate $100, we can develop the voice activation feature, enabling survivors to activate protection completely hands-free.

We are also seeking corporate and philanthropic partners to scale Safe Call Up nationally. As an early-stage innovators scheme working with the Australian Tax Office, these contributions may be eligible for tax incentives allowing organisations to maximise both their social impact and financial efficiency.
