At House of Welcome (HoW), we create safe communities for forcibly displaced people to thrive and belong. Our mission is to empower people seeking asylum and refugees with the support they need to build dignified, independent lives in Australia.
The Challenge
When people seeking asylum arrive in Australia, they face a daunting reality:
- Immediate reliance on charitable organisations for shelter
- Navigating a complex rental market with minimal income
- Often no working rights while claims are being processed
- Vulnerable women and children fleeing domestic violence
Our Solution: The Emergency Living Program
In just seven months, we received over 340 referrals for housing assistance or crisis accommodation. Our Emergency Living Program provides crucial support:
- Immediate Shelter - Safe and secure housing for vulnerable people seeking asylum and families
- Critical Aid - Medical assistance and medicine
- Food Security - Critical Access to nutritious groceries through our foodbank
- Access to other essential services

All or Nothing Campaign
This crowdfunding campaign operates on an
all-or-nothing basis. This means that if we do not reach our
goal of $15,000, none of the generous pledges from our
supporters will be processed, and we will not receive any funds
for this project.
